  • Hayley
    Head Vet Nurse

Hayley comes from WA, and began her animal career there as a kennel hand, then stable hand, working as a pacing stable foreman and track worker while studying for her Equine Management Cert 2. She finished her studies with an award for Outstanding Student of the Year before going on to gain her Cert 4 in Veterinary Nursing in 2005, doing extra study in the care of horses and of birds. In 2015 she drove East to NSW, heading across the Nullarbor and bringing all her beloved pets and even a magpie with her! The horse came over later, and they are now very much at home in Orange. Hayley has a passion for animal behaviour and she loves to befriend and gain the trust of animals every day.

Her love of animals really shines through at work and she has lots of pets too. Mark is a 17 yr old Standardbred stallion, she also has two dogs, a senior cat called Sausage, four Galahs called Bart, George, Dicky and Blu, and Harry the Cockatiel! Outside work, Hayley enjoys photography and getting out in to nature.

  • Lucy
    Vet nurse
Lucy joined the Mulberry Lane team in 2018. She was brought up in Parkes and trained at Orange TAFE where she gained her Cert4 in Vet Nursing in 2007. Lucy has worked in a range of Vet clinics across the Central West and isn't afraid of really giving things a go - a few years ago she was working full time, building a house and studying by distance Education for another qualification, all at once! This second qualification is a Diploma in General Practice Vet Nursing which took 3 years of work. It involved studying units in advanced Veterinary nursing, customer service, clinic management and training plus practical assessments and a detailed case study.

As you can see, Lucy loves variety at work and her favourite things are pathology and taking care of our inpatients in the hospital. Outside work, Lucy enjoys running with her dogs, reading and music - she has a beautiful voice and is learning the cello. Lucy has two cats and a Great Dane cross called Bain.

  • Sam
    Vet Nurse

Sam was born and raised in the Central West, and grew up exploring the bush and wildlife - she was responsible from a young age for all the family pets. She developed a keen interest in animals and their behaviour and anatomy, so Vet Nursing has proven to be the ideal career for her. Sam completed her Cert 4 in Veterinary Nursing at Orange TAFE in 2018 and joined the Mulberry Lane team at the start of 2019. Sam particularly enjoys parasitology and cytology. She has held a reptile licence for 13 years, and currently owns a variety of reptiles including 6 pythons of different species, a Bearded dragon, a BlueTongue lizard and a saw shelled turtle. Her more traditional pets are 2 rescue cats, a 14 yr old Bull Terrier and a young Catahoula x Coolie called "Luger".

Away from her beloved animals, Sam volunteers at a Shelter where she takes photos, creating online profiles for animals available for adoption, and enjoys wildlife photography too. Sam is interested in anything to do with History and Aviation, and has a goal of one day acquiring her pilots license.
