Fleas, Ticks & Worms:

So which parasites affect our pets?

Dogs may be affected by heartworm, roundworm, hookworm, tapeworm, whipworm, mange mites, ear mites, brown dog ticks, paralysis ticks, lice and fleas.

Cats may be affected by heartworm, roundworm, hookworm, tapeworm, mange mites, ear mites, paralysis ticks, lice and fleas.

Signs and Symptoms:

It is important we recognise the symptoms our pet may show if they have contracted any of the above parasites. The most common signs for intestinal worms include diarrhoea, poor coat, weight loss and abdominal pain. Heartworm causes signs such as coughing, difficulty breathing and weight loss. If your dog has mites signs may include inflammation, itching, hair loss and redness with the development of crusty skin and scabs. Ticks may be felt on your pets skin

Treatment:

There are a range of products to treat and prevent worms for both cats and dogs.
