A national shortage of cat vaccines

ou may have heard on the news about a NATIONAL shortage of cat vaccines. All Vets in Orange have now run out and we are not expecting new supplies of vaccines until the New Year.  This is very inconvenient for everyone but we can still work together to help keep your cat healthy!

If your adult cat is due a vaccination during December and January, we will contact you. We recommend that you bring your cat in for an annual health check up when he or she can have a thorough physical examination. We will weigh your cat and check teeth, ears, eyes, fur, heart and lungs and feel for any  possible problems in the gut and kidneys. This examination is a usually done during a vaccination appointment and its important that your cat still has this check up so that we can catch any health issues before they become more serious.

At the appointment, we can also update you with the vaccine situation, answer any questions you might have and help out with advice if you need it. The health check up will only cost 50% of the usual charge. You can pay the other 50% when your cat returns for the vaccination. We will contact you to make the vaccination appointment as soon as we have vaccines back in stock.

We will give your adult cat a COMPLIMENTARY flea/worm/tick and mite treatment during the health check up.

If you have a new kitten joining your family, please contact reception on 6360 3071 to discuss care and vaccination.
